Online Continuing Legal Education Workshops from NACLE

These online workshops, which can be completed at your convenience during a three-week period, are for PS&T attorneys who are interested in earning CLE credits. Multiple titles are available for registered participants to choose from. Currently, several courses are available: Cross Examination Techniques, Summation: A Work in Progress, Opening Statements, Constructing and De-Constructing a Contract for one (1) CLE credit each; E-Discovery: Preparing for a Rule 26(f) Conference for 1.5 CLE credits; Ethical Implications and Social Media and Bias in the Legal Profession for one (1) ethic CLE each; and Tort Litigation Strategies for 2.5 CLEs. CLE affidavits are made available directly from NACLE upon request for credit and completion of the course. Upon completion of enrollment, participants will be provided with an instructional document and an email including course instructions and account details.

Location: Online course accessible through SLMS

Data Analysis

This two-day workshop develops skills for visualizing and analyzing data. Topics include descriptive statistics, histograms, cross tabulations and pivot tables, correlation and regression, and confidence intervals. Use of graphs to explore patterns and relationships in the data is emphasized. Data sets are provided for practice in building statistical analysis skills. The workshop uses Microsoft Excel 2007 as a tool for learning about data analysis and is held in a digital classroom where each participant has a computer for doing the exercises. Students should bring a USB (flash) drive to class to store the files that they will be using.  Prerequisite: Familiarity with Excel, including knowing how to enter simple formulas and use built-in functions. An introductory statistics course is recommended.
