The New York State Public Employees Federation, AFT/SEIU, AFL-CIO, representing 59,000 professional,
scientific, and technical employees, distributes this PEFonline News to PEF active informed members and to
labor, political, community, and education leaders.

Information pertaining to positions in the Department of Labor  ITS-SE created as a result of the IT In-sourcing legislation will be available on the PEF website later this evening.  Please forward this to the appropriate PEF members at the Department of Labor.  PEF has 5 days to forward comments to the Division of Classification and Compensation regarding the creation of these positions; therefore we must received members comments no later than February 10th.

As stated on the PEF website under the IT In-Sourcing button on the PEF main page:

- If our members believe the posting is arbitrary or inaccurate, PEF needs specific reasons to justify challenging the posting, tentatively approved term position or certification.  For example, if the posting, position or certification requires specified experience on CISCO router and the agency posting the position does not have a CISCO router, nor do they intend to purchase one, this would be a posting PEF would object to.  If the posting requires Powerbuilder experience and your agency uses only Microsoft.net this would be another example of an arbitrary posting.
